Water and Environmental Appropriations Preview

Arguably one of the most anticipated appropriations process is the fight to receive funding for local water projects. In the past few years requests have outpaced allocations by a factor of 10.

As we look to the 2017 Legislative Session, we must ask ourselves:

• What will the legislative posture be on the implementation of Amendment 1?
• How will the provision contained in SB 522 be implemented?
• How will the chambers handle the seemingly endless requests for local water project funding?
• What appetite, if any, does the Legislature have for funding alternative water supplies or expanding the usability of reclaimed water?
